Early 2017 saw Kediri-based Kilharmonic release fourth full-length album, marked the 20 years of triumph in Indonesian metal music history. Armstretch Records’s catalog number ARM039 titled Hymn of the Apocalypsewas released on March 1, 2017.  Guitarist Wisnu Arta Wardana’s creativity and undeniable genius bring Killharmonic to the next level.

Tracks from Hymn of the Apocalypse were on the band’s set list when performed at the most prestigious metal festival in South East Asia: Hammersonic 2017, on May 7.

Since its inception in 1997, Kilharmonic has released 4 studio albums Hatred Diminished in Dismembered Head (2000), Hate That Never Set (2002), Human Race Disgrace (2010), and Hymn of the Apocalypse (2017); and one EP Supressed Denied Controlled (2009).

Killharmonic’s recent formation consists of Wisnu (guitars), Bayu Widyatmoko (vocals), Deny Pandu Purwasanjaya (bass) and B-Lee (drummer).

Wisnu Arta Wardana (known under moniker Innu) is the only remaining founding member.

Blackened death metal act Immortal Rites is fond of incorporating ancient Javanese language in their works and some Javanese music elements, with lyrics talk about local history and myths. Their debut full-length album Api dari Timur (released by Ludah Productions in 2007) and last EP titled Bhra Garudakrodha Dahanapura (released by Russian independent label Satanarsa Records in March 2016) are truly authentic evidence.

Immortal Rites was founded in 1997 as Demon Curch, then became Immortal RItes in 1998, by Dwe Farmosath (bass), Arifin (vocals), Andik Sabenu (guitars), and A’ar (drums).

Guitarist Doni Wicaksono, who joined in 2000 from Iconoclasm is the only survivor that involved in every Immortal Rites’ recordings. The last formation consists of Doni (guitars), and Aris Kutes (drums).

Immortal Rites is featured in Where Do We Go, a rockumentary about black metal music movement in Indonesia. The film was directed by Yogyakarta-based documentary maker Hernandes Saranela in 2016.

Also with Saranela in 2016, the band produced a music video to support their single Medang In Mataram Land, which enclosed in split album Kuasa Kegelapan with Malaysian black metal act Atrocious.

Story about Kediri-based brutal death metal act Tenggorokan can be traced back to 1998, where it was founded as another project for Innu from Killharmonics. The band was dormant for very long time, until former Pantekosta/Hate Stroke’s drummer Yahness reformed it in 2005.

With line up consisted of Viky (vocals), Yahness (drums), Iwan (bass) and Ricky Rangga (guitars), the band released debut EP titled The End of Earth on January 1, 2011 through Malang-based independent record company Brutal Die Inc..

A big line up changing was happened when Ricky Rangga quit due to travel-distance and then joined death metal legendary SiksakubuR. This situation has led Yahness switching instrument to guitar, and Tenggorokan recruited drummer Yuna and bassist Martin.

This formation recorded materials for debut full-length album Execution of Death, released by Disembowel Records on March 8, 2015.

Tenggorokan released a music video for single Abad Biadab on February 24, 2016.

Drummer Muhammad Harispa Anugra Alimnoarie is the epicentrum of brutal death metal band Critical Disaster. The drummer established the band in 2010. After several line up changing, Critical Disaster released debut full-length album Brutality of Human Cannibalism through East Breath Records in 2016.

After the release, Harispa was left alone by other members. With 10 new materials, he recorded all instrument for sophomore album at Nesu Productions. The eclectic second album Brahmavidya Shuddha Dhahanapura was released on March 15th, 2017 by Spanish indie label Pathologically Explicit Recordings.

With latest line up consists of Haris (drums), Mochamad Rizal Tanjung (bass), Muhamad Ilham Mubarok (guitars), and Arga Prasetia (vocals), Critical Disaster has been working out for third album since May 2017, the band’s Facebook announced.

Sereignos is a black/death metal veteran from Kediri, founded in 1998 by Erwin (vocals), Swar (guitars), Oky (guitars), Hermawan (bass) and Anggik (drums). The band split up in 2005 and reformed in 2011 with new line up consisted of  Yudiagusta (vocals), Dimas Midgard (guitars), Bimo Nethail (guitars), Widodo Herfagre (bass) and Vermozel (drums).

Vermozel parted ways with the band in 2013, and Agryans stepped in. During the recording sessions for debut Total Havoc in 2014, Agryans departed and Wahyu Warbeleth joined Sereignos.

The band released Total Havoc on November 25th, 2014 through Yogyakarta-based Evil Prevails Productions. Wahyu left the band in 2016 and replaced by Jimmy Adi Wijaya. With Jimmy, Sereignos recorded their sophomore album Desecration Era, released on October 31st, 2016 by Colorado-based Death Portal Studio.

Sereignos has revealed a grim set list to play at Sound Grave, comprises Blastodest, Prokhaos Artileri, Atomic Nuclear Desolation (Blasphemy cover), Negator, and Atomik Predator Palangsabit.
