Profile: PROLETAR

This year biggest gig ATJEH METAL FEST 2013 will kick off on 7 December 2013. Jakarta-based renowned Grindcore/Mincecore act PROLETAR will headline the fest along with local fame MAGGOTS. Check PROLETAR’s  profile below:

PROLETAR was formed in 1999 by Udinoise (vocals), Bowo (vocals), Ipuletar (guitars), Acut (bass) and Anto (drums). The five-piece band recorded their first demo “Massive Resistance” in 2000 and released a full-length album “Rakyat Jelata” in 2001 through Mencret Records. Both albums were in cassette tape format.

Bowo quit the band in 2001 to pursue career in some zine projects. PROLETAR continued to work on a split album project “There’s a Spectre Haunted” with SATELLITE in 2002 which was released by Badai Prods Record. It became the last project for the original four members. Udinoise, Acut and Anto left the band to concentrate on their studies.

PROLETAR faced an uncertain future situation. After months of hiatus, Ipul recruited Firman (bass/vocals) and Diyan (drums) to complete the required positions for a new line-up. This formation released two new records: a split album with Malang-based metal act EXTREME DECAY called “War Against the New World” and “Universal Ideas” EP in 2004.

Diyan left the band due to creative differences. Former Extreme Hate’s drummer Levoy was recruited to fill Diyan’s shoe. With this new line-up they released EP “Physical and Mental Torture” in 2005.

In 2010, Firman decided to leave the band. Bassist Ryzky a.k.a. Keke was called for the replacement. The current line-up released a split 7″ vinyl with GREBER (Canada), a split 7″ vinyl with ANALDICTION (Singapore), 3-way split CD with GRIND BUTO and ONSET OF SERIOUS PROBLEM, a split 7″ vinyl with ENTRAILS MASSACRE (Germany), etc.

PROLETAR has been working on their upcoming album titled “From Mindless Syndrome to the Eternal Decay” which is scheduled to be released in the end of 2013 by Stillborn Sounds Records.

All these years, PROLETAR has been bossing mosh crowds in some eminent metal gigs in Indonesia, and been doing some tours in other South East Asia countries.
