Scattered Brains Society presents PURE METAL FEST VII

Since its birth on 25 April 1996 in Semarang, Scattered Brains Society has become one of the most important community in Central Java metal-realms. Throughout existence spanning over 20 years, many extreme music enthusiast and musicians have been joining and done so much activities like gatherings, coaching clinics and gigs!

One of its legacy is PURE METAL FEST, a gig franchise that will commemorate its seventh installment on Sunday, 8 January 2017 at Grand Charly VHT, Semarang, Central Java.

The festival name was coined by the late Malaysian Khairul Anwar bin Abu Hasan, then History student of University of Semarang in late nineties. The concept was to generate a rendezvous of extreme music fans by making a distinct gig that specialized in metal music exclusively. The desired outcome would be then new mapping of metal music musicians and fans around Central Java Province. The idea was accepted by the community and labored its first concert on 18 July 1998 at Taman Budaya Raden Saleh, Semarang, and drew many metal music zealots’ attention.

Scattered Brains Society now is led by Ali Imron.

GERAM THRASH‘s guitarist Hatta Kawanu Tama said to www.Musik.or.id, PURE METAL FEST VII will showcase 16 major metal acts around Central Java with special performance from HISTERIA, a Semarang-based black metal band who just released their third album Armageddon II.

Hatta, who has been member of Scattered Brains Society since 2009, told about the difficulty in organizing the PMF VII. He complained about the “unfriendly” bureaucracy that became a big obstacle in finding perfect venue for their show in Semarang. The regular spot for previous PMFs was Taman Budaya Raden Saleh. Now, they have to relocate to Grand Charly VHT.

Within the limits of the concert, spectators can have interesting offers from t-shirt and accessories merchants i.e.  Jehova Merch, Come Store, Doncyco Store, Vitus, Owlight and Hardcraft.
