Payangan Sound presents Grunge is Friendship 4
Grunge is never dead! There will always be loyal fans who survive the music and its subculture. Bekasi is one of the good sample in earth where grunge is persisted. Many communities were established by local grunge die-hard fans.
Since its inception in 2004, The Payangan Sound has been working hard to maintain the grunge brotherhood in Payangan area, a village in Bekasi. A gig series was needed to create, to satisfy the longing of a good grunge concert in the region. Grunge is Friendship is their answer!
The society will hold the fourth installment of Grunge is Friendship, a gig series, on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Mess AL Jl. Raya Kranggan, Pertigaan Padang, Bekasi. The fourth edition marks the society revival. The last gig was held seven years ago.
The Grunge is Friendship 4 will showcase 23 grunge/alternative rock acts.
Rusli a.k.a Uchai from Payangan Sound talked to www.Musik.or.id about the show and the fraternity. He said The Payangan Sound was founded in 2004 by Zakoel, a grunge aficionado. The name was inspired by Seattle Sound.
A year after the establishment, Payangan Sound organized their first concert titled Grunge is Friendship. The gig took place at Gang Jibun Field, Payangan on September 25, 2005. The gig name was coined by Zakoel himself.
The second installment was held on December 24, 2006 at AURI Market parking lot. Four years later the society managed to set up the third issue at AURI Payangan field, on March 14, 2010.
Rusli who plays guitar in grunge act Radio Kotor, blamed the daily life activities of the society members that made the fourth installment is delayed to hold for almost seven years.
