Koalisi Hitam presents Batam Distori

Batam-based renowned community Koalisi Hitam will kick out its new initiative The BATAM DISTORI, an underground gig, on March 18, 2017 at GGI Hotel’s pub Batam, Indonesia.
Following its successful portfolio Koalisi Hitam gig series, founder Joni Haryanto decided to make a new underground concert named BATAM DISTORI. The initial lineup consists of well-established bands from Batam and Kepulauan Riau Province extreme music realms, and will feature Bandung-based death metal band DIGGING UP.
Earlier this year, Digging Up scheduled a Sumatera tour series in March 2017 titled the Sumatera Infection Tour, to promote their 2014 highly acclaimed album Disseminated Inapparent Infection.
Digging Up will share the stage with another 15 bands including Malaysian Farasu and Silent Migration, also Sungai Penuh’s RETALITION, whose debut full-length album Inspire the Moment just released in January 2017.
Tri Setyono a.k.a. Kentung Black Merch from Koalisi Hitam stated to www.Musik.or.id, the main obstacle to materialize the new gig was finding a right venue. But the problem has been solved. The organizer will use GGI Hotel’s pub.
Joni Haryanto spoke about the funny idea behind the name. It was based on his experience in setting up a show. Joni usually pawns some stuffs or borrowing money to fund a gig, and pays it back when the show has been done. This “paid back” thing (setoran, disetori) is being his main inspiration to name the new gig. The owner of Apanane Rebel founded Koalisi Hitam in 2015. Yet, Koalisi Hitam has been organized its eponymous events four times since its inception.
