SiksakubuR to headline Hellenistic in Hell #2
One of the most leading underground societies in Semarang, Scattered Brains Society, teams up with University of Semarang’s student extracurricular activity unit UKM Musik USM, will organize the sophomore installment of Hellenistic in Hell, on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Gedung PKM Universitas Semarang, Central Java.
The Hellenistic in Hell #2, now a monthly gig series, is held as Semarang-date of SiksakubuR’s Java, Bali and Lombok tour to support their iconic album Mazmur:187.
The Indonesian death metal giant is on the road with its Mazmur:187 Tour 2017, starting from West Jakarta, on Sunday, August 27, 2017, then wrapping up in October.
Ten utmost musical acts from around Central Java will accompany SiksakubuR at the very show, starting from 5 PM.
SiksakubuR’s seventh full-length album Mazmur:187, released in November 2016 by Armstretch Records, has received positive reviews from most music zines and metal enthusiasts since its released. The high praise and approval for the album, sent the band to receive an accolade last May, at Hammersonic Metal Awards 2017, winning the category of Breakthrough of The Year.
Since its inception in 1996, SiksakubuR has released 7 full-length albums, 1 EP, and 1 compilation album.
The band current line up consists of Rudy Harijanto (vocals), Andre Marora Tiranda (guitars), Adhitya Perkasa (drums), Ricky Rangga (guitars), and Gilang Pristianto (bass).
Semarang’s most beloved thrash/death metal veteran Radical Corps is a guarantee the crowds will come to Hellenistic in Hell #2. The band is one of the remnants of 90’s metal generation in Central Java.
Having three full-length albums since its birth on May 20, 1992, whose lyrics consistently talking about politic and human suffering, makes Radical Corps gaining cult of following, and fans have been longing for the band’s fourth album.
Radical Corps has released The Unsolved of Euphony Destruction (1998), Born in the Land of Hate (2004), and State of Emergency (2005). Current lineup comprises Rudy Murdock (vocals, guitars, flute), Novi (guitars, vocals), Samuel Enggar Sudradjat (Bass), and Yus (drums).
Sludge/stoner metal act Octopuz is a supergroup formed by Throats of Panic guitarist Brury Prasetyo in 2008, with Lazarus guitarist Abe, Athemis bassist Eka, and Medusa the Murder drummer Oso. Former Neckless frontman Hary Prahasto was added later. Fellow Throats of Panic’s singer Novelino Adam joined the band replacing Eka in bass position.
The band has released two EP’s entitled I (2009) and Part II (2013).
Mental Retardation Force is a magnum opus for East Breath Records’ artist Killer of Gods. The Semarang-based technical death metal worked the album with a vengeance, and delivered the killer full-length album on May 24th, 2016.
Prior to Mental Retardation Force, Killer of Gods released debut studio album Replica to Hell in 2013 through Surabaya’s No Label Records.
Killer of Gods was formed in 2011. Drummer Muhammad Yasin Yusuf and frontman Bocil Arga are the only survivors of its original members. Current lineup consists of Yusuf (drums), Bocil (bass), Reka Setya Mahadika (guitars), Muhammed Luthfi Al Hakim (bass) and Solichin (guitars).
Semarang-based metalcore act Sunday Sad Story presumably will play their new single Mindless Faith at Hellenistic in Hell 2. The single marks their new venture for untitled-yet sophomore album.
Sunday Sad Story has drawn national music medias attention after being nominated in “Karya Produksi Metal Terbaik” category at 2015 Indonesian’s Grammy Award counterpart: the AMI Awards. Its single Confession lost to Afterkoma’s Perang on the occasion.
The band was founded in 2005, and has released debut full-length album entitled Human Error on October 20, 2013. Last formation consists of Reza Fajar Nuary (vocals), Rahmaditya Bondan (bass), Adi Prasetyo (guitars, vocals), Almando Charles (guitars), and Antok Constantine (drums).
Up-and-coming death metal act from Grobogan Regency, Devoid will showcase their works from latest release: demo CD Human Psyche of Sinners, published independently on July 14, 2017.
Devoid was founded in 2015 by frontman Harmawan Rumiyanto after parted ways with his previous band Crown Of Rage. Harmawan is now accompanied by Ryan Scylla (bass), Iqbal Setya Wibawa (drums) and Hendra Ardiansyah (guitars).

The organizer spokesperson Hatta Kawanu Tama told Musik.or.id, the Hellenistic in Hell is the society’s new monthly gig, started by the first issue on August 5, 2017 featuring Panic Disorder and Syndrome as its headliners.
Since its birth on 25 April 1996 in Semarang, Scattered Brains Society has become one of the most important community in Central Java metal-realms. Throughout existence spanning over 20 years, many extreme music enthusiast and musicians have been joining and done so much activities like gatherings, coaching clinics and gigs!
Scattered Brains Society now is led by Ali Imron.
