Samarinda to witness Gore Infamous and Kapital headlining Extreme Aggression 3

One of the most anticipated music events in East Kalimantan, the Extreme Aggression gig series, will be held on this Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Wadah Bahimung, Taman Budaya Samarinda from 10 Am to 6 PM ICST.

The third installment of Extreme Aggression will showcase fifteen most aggressive and brightest bands from around East Kalimantan Province, along with two headliners i.e. Bandung-based brutal death metal act Gore Infamous and Kapital, metalcore/melodic death metal veteran from Tenggarong.

This year’s issue marks a significant change in the festival format. This time, the event proprietor, ATW Production will launch an eponymous compilation CD contains songs from the event line up.

Earlier this year, ATW Production scouted local talents to be part of the very album. Bands were being asked to submit their recordings, and only 15 of them would be chosen and listed in the CD. The chosen bands will perform at the Extreme Aggression 3.

Gore Infamous will headline the Extreme Aggression 3 with their infamous signature: masked! The band is known for being one of few bands who always wearing corpse masks during concert. The masked style and energetic actions during performing make this band gaining cult of following.

Founded in 2010, the band has released debut EP Cadaver in Methodical Overture in 2012 through California-based independent label New Standard Elite. Latest formation consists of Wawan Setiawan (drums), Egie Devoid (guitars), Rendra (vocals0, and Freddy Mulya Purba (bass).

Tenggarong-based metalcore/melodic death metal veteran Kapital is on the eve of releasing sixth full-length album entitled Semesta Rawa, scheduled to be launched in September 2017 by Armstretch Records. Extreme Aggression 3 spectators presumably will have a sneak peek of the latest album.

Kapital just has lost its bassist Wibi Wibawa Swadharma a.k.a. Beng due to spiritual awakening, after spending 10 years with the band. Since its inception in 2004, Kapital has released Metalmorphosis (2009), Reikarnasi (2011), Symphony Kegelapan (2012), Teror dari Belantara (2014), and Anonymous (2015).

Founded as The Pistol, the band dropped that name and adopted the current one in 2007. Recent lineup comprises Akbar Haka (vocals), Dhani Arinda (guitars), Indra Kusuma (drums), and Ari Wardhana (guitars).

ATW Production’s co-founder Agung Tri Wahyudi in his recent interview with Musik.or.id said this is the first time the company produces an album to support its festival roster, and aiming to make the works of musicians in the area to be heard.

The company was established by Agung and his brother Ispro Sulung, owner of Sulung Extreme Music, Samarinda. They have organized the first Extreme Aggression on August 24, 2014 as their first major event. Followed a year later by the second installment. In February 2016 a new show titled Extreme Day was held.

Born in 1997, Agung organized the first installment of Extreme Aggression while he was in high school.
