Tinta Hitam to release Suara-suara Amarah Compilation Album
Tinta Hitam Merch, a Makassar-based label/distro will release its first DIY compilation album Suara Suara Amarah, in March 2017. It has rounded up 38 up-and-coming underground bands, mostly coming from around Makassar area.
Muhammad Nur Cahya, owner of Tinta Hitam Merch, said the project was commenced in early February 2017. He placed an add in his facebook looking for bands who would like to submit their songs for the compilation album.
Cahyo whose crustgrind band BENTROX is listed in the line up revealed there were so many participants who sent demos and he didn’t mind to take them all. The compilation album is not curated since there is no selection committee. Tinta Hitam skips to do mixing and mastering. They leave the songs’ sound quality just the way they were.
The cover art is designed by Anto from antoDESIGNnoise, and lay out is done by Cahyo. The album is set to release in limited copies for IDR 30K each. To date, Tinta Hitam has released Bentrox’s second album Infeksi Kehidupan in 2016, and now is working out for Cahyo’s new grincore project RUSUH’s debut EP, which is set to release in April.
