Kayu Aro Metalhead to observe Independence Day with “Distorsi Hitam 2”

To celebrate the 72nd National Independence Day, Kayu Aro Metalhead returns with its second installment of Distorsi Hitam, an annual gig series. The show will take place on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Gedung Afdeeling F, Kersik Tuo, District Kayu Aro, Kerinci Regency, Jambi.

Distorsi Hitam 2 will start from 1 PM.

Sixteen lethal musical acts, listed in the gig’s current roster, will scorch Kersik Tuo, the last village before the highest volcano in Indonesia, and the highest peak on the island of Sumatra: the fabulous Mount Kerinci. Kersik Tuo lies on 1600 meter above mean sea level, and having colder mountain climate.

Sungaipenuh-based death metal legion Retalition is featured as Distorsi Hitam 2 headliner, along with fellow Jambi’s death metal Agrios. Retalition is considered veteran for the show, also headlining the last year’s edition of Distorsi Hitam, and headlining the Kayu Aro Metalhead’s first anniversary gig titled Monster of Morality, held on new year’s eve 2017.

Retalition will rock Distorsi Hitam 2 with two new reinforcements: drummer Wigo Hernando and bassist Raju Anugrah Zubakir, after guitarist/co-founder Johannes Hart and drummer Mahendra Saputra parted ways with the band earlier this year, due to their commitment at works.

In recent interview with Musik.or.id, frontman Deri Okayama stated the band has commenced their sophomore album recording session.

Retalition was formed in August 2013 by frontman Deri Okayama and guitarist Johannes Hart. They recruited bassist Dimas Aries Putra and drummer Mahendra Saputra in 2015. The band commenced to record its first full-length album in April 2016 at Aco Studio Sungai Ning, Sungai Bungkal sub-district, Sungaipenuh and finished in November 2016. Rottenflesh Record released the debut album titled INSPIRE THE MOMENT in January 2017.

Current lineup comprises Deri Okayama (vocals), Dimas Aries Putra (guitars), Raju Anugrah Zubakir (bass) and Wigo Hernando (drums).

Kayu Aro Metalhead was established in 2015. To date, the society has organized the first edition of Distorsi Hitam on August 20, 2016 and Monster Morality on December 31, 2016.
