“The Negative One”, Lagu terbaru dari SLIPKNOT
SLIPKNOT melalui fanpage Facebook resmi mereka, Selasa 12 Agustus 2014, memposting lirik lagu terbaru yang berjudul “The Negative One”. Lagu tersebut merupakan bagian dari album ke-5 mereka yang rencananya akan dirilis pada bulan Oktober nanti setelah terakhir mengeluarkan album pada tahun 2008 yang berjudul “All Hope Is Gone”. Album kelima ini merupakan album pertama mereka tanpa bassist Paul Gray, yang meninggal pada tahun 2010, dan drummer Joey Jordison, yang “dikeluarkan” tahun lalu.
Mengingat Joey Jordison dikenal sebagai “Nomor Satu”, jangan-jangan lagu ini dimaksudkan untuk menyindir drummer yang sekarang bergabung dengan band SCAR THE MARTYR.
Akun Facebook mereka juga memberi tautan untuk video lagu “The Negative One”, yang disutradarai pemain perkusi mereka Shawn “Clown” Crahan, yang selama ini bertanggung jawab di dalam pembuatan video dan dokumentari Slipknot.
Tentu pertanyaan besar dari penggemar tetap terdengar: siapa yang memainkan drum di lagu dan album mereka tersebut? Gosip yang beredar adalah putra dari Max Weinberg, drummer band pengiring superstar Amerika Bruce Springsteen, yang bernama Jay Weinberg. Jay selama ini membantu Slipknot di berbagai kesempatan konser pasca ditinggal Joey Jordison.
