Profile: THE NEW KING

THE NEW KING is a Banda Aceh-based deathcore act. The band was established in 2014 by Farhan, known for being founder and guitarist for now-defunct SHITAKE, a notable deathcore band in the Aceh metal realms. Farhan decided to dismiss SHITAKE due to irreconcilable differences with other members, even tough the band had accomplished recording materials for their first EP.

Farhan started THE NEW KING with Giffari, former OMNIVALENT guitarist in September 2014. The two recruited Rizky, former frontman of TRANSYLVANIA, and Palot and Ridwan, both were Farhan’s band-mates in SHITAKE who play bass and drums respectively.

The band began writing their own original material in the end of 2014 and recorded in Farhan’s Home Studio. 6 tracks were produced, engineered, mixing and mastered by Farhan. Who am I was chosen as the album title and set to be released on 5 September 2015. The album launching will take place at Open Stage Taman Budaya, during the Aceh on Stage Festival, an all genre gig that will be held on 4 and 5 September 2015 by Pargop Utama Organizer.
