Indonesian largest drummer and percussionist society, the Indonesia Drummer dan Perkusionis (IDP) will hold its second installment of Indonesia Drum dan Perkusi Festival. This year’s issue will take place at Taman Ismail Marzuki (Jakarta Cultural Centre), Jalan Cikini Raya, Jakarta, from March 30 to April 2, 2017.

The Indonesia Drum dan Perkusi Festival 2017 seems to be the biggest of its kind in South East Asia to date, regarding its multi-day and amount of performances. The festival will showcase hundreds of talented and well-established Indonesian drummers and percussionists, in more than 100 performances to amuse drums and percussion enthusiast.

Along with the drummer and percussionist performances, there will be also some sub-events happening in the very festival, i.e:

• Drums and percussion exhibition/trade show
• Drums competition, and Drums and Percussion collaboration competition
• Drums and percussion clinics
• Drums and Percussion Art Show
• IDP Chapters performances
• Indonesian percussion art fashion
• Indonesian percussion art photography competition
• Indonesian percussion discussion
• Indonesian National Music Day seminar
• and many more

On March 12, 2017, the IDP official fan page announced  this year’s edition will conduct an IDP Legend Award ceremony to honor the late renown music educator Dr. Pono Banoe. The author of Kamus Musik died on March 12 this year.
