Profile: VALENCIA SKY

VALENCIA SKY is a gothic metal act from Banda Aceh, founded in August 2013 by ETERNAL CHAOS‘ guitarist and leader Dave Hateless  as a “serious” side-project to satisfy his desire to have a gothic metal band which employing darker and mysterious lyrics and distinctive sounds.

RISE TO REVENGE‘s frontwoman Winda, and former ROCK EYES‘ bassist Tria Novita (Oppie) were induced to join Dave, forming the original line-up. The threesome shared their interest in groups such as Within Temptation, Nightwish, Evanescence, The Agonist, Eyes Set to Kill, Epica, Sirenia and some other well-recognized metalcore/black metal bands.

To emphasize its identity as a gothic metal band, VALENCIA SKY was chosen as the band name. They recruited Al Khair from DEATH BY APHRODITE as their temporary drummer to complete the initial line-up. The newborn band started to engage in Pesta Rakyat, September 2013.

The band later added keyboardist Rizky from PSYCOBEIN to define its darker sound. A vary musician were  employed to reinforce VALENCIA SKY in their next concerts. They were Azed Fazed (guitars, DEATH BY APHRODITE), Ayi Adler (guitars, RISE TO REVENGE), and Reza (drums, RISE TO REVENGE).

Dave’s song “All story[ies] will end” became their anthem and played in concerts like Pentas Seni Ubudiyah, Pentas Seni Unmuha, and Atjeh Metal Fest.  VALENCIA SKY will play in 2014 Tangerang Gothic Fest in next April.
