Java Festival Production has confirmed its 13th installment of Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival to take place on 3-5 March 2017 at JIExpo, Kemayoran, North Jakarta. During the press conference which was held at Gedung Kemang 89, South Jakarta (18/1), promoter Dewi Gontha stated this year’s edition will showcase hundreds international and national famed jazz musicians who will share 14 stages in more than 150 shows. This year’s theme is Betawi.

The multi-stages festival will be more “down to earth”, since the promoter decided to eliminate the expensive special shows. With zero special show, and adding more stages (14 stages compared to last year’s 11 stages), she expected the BNI Java Jazz Festival 2017 will draw 120 thousands attendees, higher than previous edition’s 114 thousands spectators, including multiple days pass holders.

Tickets are on sale now for IDR 650K (daily pass) and IDR 1500K (3-day pass). The main sponsor BNI offers a special program “buy 1 get 2” for any BNI card holders. The tickets box information is available at the official website www.javajazzfestival.com.

The Jakarta International Jazz Festival was held for the first time in 2005 showcasing 125 groups and 1,405 artists performed in 146 shows. The event which is considered one of the largest jazz festivals in the world, was the brainchild of Peter Gontha, an impresario, musician, and businessman who is now serving as Indonesia’s ambassador to Republic of Croatia.
