Pekanbaru extreme music aficionados will be electrified by the fifth LANCANG KUNING BERGEMA, an enticing underground gig series presented by Grief Blozzom Production, a well-established event management from the city that naturally divided by Siak River.
The gig will be happened on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Take Off Cafe, Jalan Arifin Ahmad, Pekanbaru, Riau Province. Hosted by Ari Vidi, the LANCANG KUNING BERGEMA #5 will kick off at 2 PM till drop.
Twenty metal bands from Riau, Jambi and West Sumatera Provinces will resonate deafening every gig attendee’s eardrums with high decibel powerful sound produced by the PA system. Among the list, four metal units will co-headline the very show i.e MAKAM (Pekanbaru), RETALITION (Sungai Penuh, Jambi), OTAK ERROR (Bangkinang) and WICKED SICK (Pekanbaru).
RETALITION will exploit the show to promote its debut full-length album Inspire the Moment that released in January 2017 by Jakarta-based independent record company Rottenflesh Record.
Jojo DOV from Grief Blozzom Production spoke to www.Musik.or.id about the show. He revealed the Lancang Kuning Bergema gig series was inspired by Gurindam Bergema, a gig series that was established around 1999-2000 by his senior Pekanbaru musicians. Jojo loved the idea of using Malay terms for their new show. He proposed new gig Lancang Kuning Bergema to his fellow Grief Blozzom colleagues to go along with their then-current gig series Blasting Madness.
The first Lancang Kuning Bergema was held at Ariston Cafe & Seafood, Pekanbaru on September 8, 2012. The idea behind the show was to serve a platform for Riau musicians to showcase their works.
Jojo, frontman of Pekanbaru-based death metal unit D.O.V added: Grief Blozzom Production was founded as Anak-anak Jalan Rambutan/Marpoyan Movement in 2008 by Jojo DOV, Ade Alzheimer, Soni Endocarditis, Agung Lartuz, Derry Lartuz and Eka. Found out the name did not sound right, Ade then proposed to change it to the current name in 2010. To date, they have organized 15 shows since 2011.
