Blackghost presents Ciracap Gemuruh #9

Sukabumi Regency is the largest regency by area in West Java, border with the Indian Ocean. Even tough it is big in size, people considers it as a small town. But, Sukabumi has a bunch of potential up-and-coming musicians. It also has some small communities who own regular gigs, that sometimes offering well established bands from major cities like Jakarta, Bandung, etc to play in the area.

Ciracap is a sub-district in the regency, located right in the southern part. An underground scene named Blackghost Community has been dwelling there since 2005. The society maintains an annual gig titled CIRACAP GEMURUH starting in 2006.

The gig series is organized in April every year during the Fisherman Day observance in Pelabuhan Ratu, the capital city of Sukabumi Regency. The regency is famous for its fishing and agriculture sectors.

This year’s issue marks the consistency of the society who will celebrate its twelfth anniversary soon. The ninth installment of CIRACAP GEMURUH will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017  at Pasirpanjang Field, Ciracap.

Twenty five bands from West Java, Banten and Jakarta are scheduled to thrust the stage, to amuse extreme music fans in Sukabumi.  Three Bandung-based music acts NOISE DAMAGE, INTERFECTORMENT, and STIGMATUARY are featured as the gig’s headliners.

Sofandi a.k.a Badonk, founder of Blackghost Community in his interview with www.Musik.or.id spoke about the show. He said the aims of founding the society were to strengthen the binding among metalheads and musicians around the area, and to develop creativeness of young musicians to produce own works

The alumnus of Bogor Agricultural University added they held some social activities to precede the Ciracap Gemuruh #9, such as conducting social activity events, anti-drugs campaign, and holding three-monthly gigs “road to Ciracap Gemuruh” as preliminary events to precede Ciracap Gemuruh #9.

Badonk stated the main obstacle in organizing the gig series was the classic financial issue. They have to rely on their members’ contribution.
